Some of the stuff Irish people do may seem freakishly weird and maybe even wrong to some, but I for one like it.
Case1: One time when I was carrying a new microwave for a Malaysian girl, a car just stopped in front of us. A woman opened her door half way and asked "do you guys need a lift?" And such things just don't happen in Malaysia. It was really cool to think a stranger would've gone out of her way to help us.
Not too freaky yet I hope. It gets better. Or worse. Depending on how you view the matter.
Case2: Another day, me and the other Malaysians (plus assorted Singaporeans) were having a get together dinner at one of their apartments. A knock on the door came. The host (Grace) went to answer the door. A guy was standing outside with his arms crossed and said he was a RA (Residence Assistant) and he was gonna check what we were up to as there had been complaints that we were too noisy. Grace freaked! Sorry Grace if you ever read this.
Later he revealed that he was just kidding. He apparently saw the lights and heard the sounds coming from the place and decided to pop in to say hello. And so he did.
I've saved the best for last
Case3: I was being a good boy again on one fine day (which i swear usually rarely happens) , and I heard a knock on the door. I answered it and these two Irish girls were there. I had never seen those two before. They said hello and that they were living downstairs in the apartment below mine. Then they said "Could we come in?"
I kinda stalled for a while.
"Well we're comin in no matter what you do" And they just came in. Their excuse was that they're being neighborly.
They invited me and my housemate (Abraham) to the student bar and after a short conversation they left for the bar.
There is more to tell but these I feel are the best. Well aside from a drunk Irish guy climbing a crane singing "Suicidal" by Shaun Kingston at past midnight.
Anyway there'll be plenty more to tell as they days go by.
